i cant seem to grasp how your mind works. you say plenty of times you know you need and should more involved than you are. if you know this, then why arent you doing it? if you know that somethings wrong and if you just put more effort into making things right and that effort makes things better, then why not do it? especially if you are tired of the complaining and the fighting.
